Where it sits in the Genique stack
Element Biosciences is the sequencing tier, and it is the anchor the rest of the stack is arranged around. A lab buying an AVITI™ system from Genique is buying into a chain that Genique also supplies at every other step.
- Upstream: extraction and reagents from Seasun Biomaterials, and library preparation from Paragon Genomics, SOPHiA GENETICS, Gene Solutions, Diatech Pharmacogenetics or Atrandi Biosciences depending on the application.
- On the instrument: AVITI LT™, AVITI™ and the multiomics-ready AVITI24™, all on avidite base chemistry.
- Downstream: Sentieon or Genique bioinformatics for secondary analysis, Genomize SEQ for interpretation and reporting, and SOPHiA DDM™, which picks the run up at FASTQ and covers both steps.
- What that means in practice: one purchase order, one point of contact and one team accountable for the whole path from sample to signed-out report.
What a lab needs to run it
Site requirements for the AVITI24™ System, read off the site prep guide Element Biosciences publishes. These are manufacturer specifications rather than Genique estimates, and they are what a laboratory plans around before delivery.
- Bench and clearance: 95.5 cm wide, 72.3 cm deep, 74.9 cm high and 155 kg, on a sturdy isolated bench, with 15 cm clear at each side and behind, 92 cm in front and 48 cm above for access to the air filter.
- Power: 100 to 240 V at 50 or 60 Hz, which covers Indian mains directly, on a dedicated single-phase 15 A circuit with no extension cord. 600 W average and 1200 W peak. An uninterruptible supply rated at least 865 W or 1500 VA is recommended by the manufacturer.
- Ambient: 18 to 26 °C at 30 to 70 per cent relative humidity, non-condensing, below 2000 m, with roughly 500 W of heat to carry away in normal use.
- Kit storage: a freezer at minus 25 to minus 15 °C and a refrigerator at 2 to 8 °C, because library prep and sequencing kits ship frozen while flow cells are held chilled.
- Data: a 2 x 151 sequencing run writes about 470 GB on AVITI™ OS 3.4 or later, and a cytoprofiling run 41 to 77 GB depending on the flow cell, so the storage connection is worth sizing before installation rather than after.
- Delivery: Element delivers, unpacks and places the instrument, and a field service engineer commissions it with a performance verification run.
How Genique supports it in India
Supplied, installed and supported by Genique in India as the official channel partner.
- Lead time: four weeks from purchase order to delivery. Every item on the current list is held in stock rather than built to order.
- Service: an engineer on site within 24 hours.
- Training: on site, for as many people as the laboratory needs trained rather than a fixed number of seats. One to two days.
- Consumables: four weeks to replenish, on the same stocked basis as the first order.
Regulatory status in India
Element supplies sequencing instruments and the kits that run on them, and both are labelled by the manufacturer for research use.
- Labelling: Research Use Only. That holds even where a product carries CE-IVD, CE-IVDR or FDA marking in another jurisdiction, because an approval granted elsewhere does not travel to India.
- CDSCO: nothing on this page is approved or licensed by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation as an in-vitro diagnostic device.
- What accreditation does and does not cover: accreditation of a laboratory evidences the quality system and the method validation under which work is performed. It does not change the regulatory status of an assay.
- What this means for a NABL laboratory: the platform is the instrument the laboratory validates its own methods on, and the validation evidences the method rather than approving the assay.
