From sample to report
A blood or saliva sample is sequenced in an accredited lab and returned as a clear report, reviewed by a certified counsellor.
What the panel covers
The fitness report is 35 traits grouped into six profiles, which is how it is meant to be read: one profile at a time, against the part of training it applies to.
- Genetic Fitness Profile, 10 traits: bone health, muscle strength, power, endurance, aerobic potential, recovery, likelihood of fatigue, affinity to a sedentary lifestyle, detoxification ability and DNA-damage repair.
- Exercise Profile, 8 traits: motivation to exercise, aversion to exercise, benefit of brisk walking, overall exercise benefit, and your response to training on HDL cholesterol, blood pressure, weight gain and training sensitivity.
- Weight Profile, 7 traits: body fat percentage, lean body mass, body mass index, waist circumference response, obesity, weight-gain tendency and difficulty in losing weight.
- Sleep Pattern Profile, 4 traits: circadian rhythm, insomnia, sleep apnea and overall sleep health.
- Injury Susceptibility Profile, 3 traits: tendency of sports injury, ankle injury susceptibility and risk of ligament rupture.
- Food Profile, 3 traits: high-protein and low-carbohydrate diet effectiveness, and satiety impairment.
How the results are returned
Each trait is a polygenic score placed in a percentile band, so the report says where you sit against a reference population rather than handing down a verdict.
- The score: a weighted sum of trait-associated alleles, reported as a percentile from 0 to 100.
- The bands: 5 and below is low, above 5 to below 95 is intermediate, 95 and above is high.
- The detail: every trait lists the genes, markers and genotype behind it, with genotype given as 0/0 for no variation detected, 0/1 for one copy and 1/1 for both.
- The structure: each profile opens with how many of its traits fell low, intermediate and high, then an interpretation, then recommendations written for that profile rather than for the report as a whole.
- Sample type: whole blood.
